All I see is Rebit, then I see:
Clicking on Rebit Support Forum takes me back to your forum, and there is no "Support at the top" there either.
Please suggest a different location to go to.

While it is safe to defragment the Rebit drive, there is no need to do this as Rebit uses its own indexing system for organizing data.

@hsmyser - there is no software patch as the situation you describe should already work. There is plenty of space on your K drive, and if both C and J are checked, it should backup your J drive. If your system has been online for a sufficiently long enough time for a backup and J remains not backed up, please contact support directly as they might want to see your log files in order to determine the exact cause of this issue.

J Drive Won't Back Up

J is a separate 1 TB USB 2.0 drive that currently holds about 770 GB of data.

C currently holds about 500 GB of data.

Both C and J are checked for backup with Rebit 3.0, which is installed on drive K, which is a separate 2 TB USB 2.0 drive that is plugged into a system USB port, directly, not a USB extension port.

Rebit has backed up the C drive, which is confirmed when I mouse over any C file, as a window correctly appears that provides data about the Rebit backup.

However, mousing over any J file confirms that Rebit has not backed it up, as there is no Rebit data that appears.

Do you have a software patch or something that fixes this?

That is correct. Ideally, there is no point to having multiple backups on partitions on a single drive anyway since if the drive were ever to go out you would still lose all of them. Instead, it would be better to have backups done to many separate drives.

I am new to Rebit 5 and I just asked a question to Rebit Suport about partitions in my target drives, either connected USB drives or home network drives.

Rebit Support recommended that I should NOT back up to one of multiple partitions on my target drives. Support advised Rebit would back up to one of multiple partitions on a target drive, but there was a risk that if I ever needed to recover my system Rebit might not be able to properly identify the partition that has the Rebit backup, resulting in a failure of my recovery effort.

Bottom line, Support said to format the target drives as one large partition. Support said I could put Rebit backups for multiple PCs on the single partition, and I could also store other files or other software backups on the same partition, so long as it had sufficient space for everything.

Is D: a separate external drive or a partition on the system drive? Also, try this: go to the D: drive on your system and double click on it. Choose a random file, such as a picture or a document and right-click on it. You will see an option to Browse in Rebit. Do this, and it should bring up a window of the backed up version of that file. Let me know what happens when you do this.

Still wondering if there's an issue here. I would absolutely buy this software if it could back up a D drive along with the C drive. I can see that it is supposed to work.....but it doesn't. The D drive box is checked. The software will not back up the D drive. Does anyone have any insight to this?

I just downloaded the trial and set it to back up my C drive and D drive. Both are checked. The C drive was backed up. The D drive is still checked, but it was not backed up. Or at least I can't see it when I browse the back up. Is it that the trial version won't back up a second drive or is it something else? Each of the two drives is about 80G of data and the back up drive is 750G so space is not the issue. I think I want to purchase the software, but not if it can't back up the D drive also which is where much of my data is stored.

I just used the Browse Backup feature on Rebit 5.
I like to sort things by date. After right-clicking the header bar to add the "Date Modified" field, I clicked on the new heading and found that while the order of the files changed, they were not sorted by date. The order seeed totally random. Clicking on the name of the file and the size of the file does sort things as one would expect.
Does anyone know why sorting does not work on the date field?
I also tried this with the "Date Created" field and could not achieve proper sorting for that column either.

In some cases it does make a difference in regards to safely disconnecting, but in others it makes no difference. It all comes down to determining why an external drive will not safely disconnect in the first place. There are third party programs that can help you determine which programs are holding the drive open and not letting it disconnect. Usually antivirus programs are responsible for this, but sometimes the safely disconnect feature itself is broken.
