When upgrading to Rebit 5, the previous Rebit 3 backup will be converted to the new indexing system automatically. The user does NOT need to wipe out the entire drive and start over.

I feel that Rebit has thrown its best customers under the bus. There's no upgrade from 6-PC Rebit SaveMe...and no explanation of how they expect us to migrate. I don't have time to read through this entire forum...but I have nothing but unanswered questions. A biggie: Is the data stored by SaveMe compatible with Rebit 5 or do I have to erase everything and start from scratch? Rebit's continuing policy of not producing reasonable documentation for their products will ultimately lead to their demise...no matter how good they may be. It's just a matter of time.

This is a glitch caused by Antivirus programs or similar, where a file is not allowed to be deleted properly. 10828 is the latest version as of right now, so you can ignore the message to revert to 10670. You might want to clean out your temporary folders, this has been known to resolve the issue. If it does not, email technical support for assistance.

Rebit is constantly asking me to update. the message is available version 5.0.1035.10670 -current version 5.0.1035.10828.

The first problem is language: to me this means I already have the latest version.

Then, when I run the update, to version 10828, the update runs, I restart my computer and I am asked to run the update. Again.

To make it really annoying, the application also does not work - it isn't discovering drives to back up nor drives to back up to. None of the other functions are working either.

Suggestions welcome.

I installed the new software 5, but for 2 days it says it is not able to back up because I have not configured any backup drives. After 2 days of configuring the Rebit drive that I have connected, I keep receiving this message. The Rebit drive worked great with the previous software, but version 5 is not working.

If you are actually able to begin downloading but it fails, then the server is ON. The problem is most likely with the distance to the server or the number of stations the signals have to pass through before getting to your computer.

I would recommend contacting Rebit customer support at support@rebit.com in order to have your system updated via an alternate method. You could also reset your Rebit to the latest version following the "How Do I Reset Rebit" instructions.

Regarding the warning message, this is nothing to worry about. It simply means that there was an additional storage device connected at some point that is no longer attached. For example another external drive or a flash drive.

I hope that each time a new version is available we don't have to uninstall the software and then reinstall it! It would be very uncomfortable to do all these manipulations!

I'm looking for the most recent update, because I have a problem with the icon in the tray: when I restart my computer, the icon doesn't stay in the tray. I have to configurate the tray's icons to put it again. This is a "problem" known by Rebit and I would appreciate to fix it
with a recent update.

The latest software update is available. Rebit software versions 3.0.258.7905 and 3.0.259.7905 are now available.

Simply right-click the small Rebit icon in the lower right corner of the screen and select "Check for Update" to apply the update.

If you have Rebit version 5181, or 5424, (right-click the Rebit tray icon, select "About") you will need to download and install the following registry keys in order to complete the update. Simply download the Single PC Key, or the Multi PC Key according to the Rebit software that you have. If you have a 64 - Bit version of XP, Vista or Windows 7, please use these keys instead: Single PC Key - 64 Bit, or the Multi PC Key - 64 Bit. Rename the .txt file to .reg. Double-click on the keys once you have downloaded them to import them into your registry. Vista users will need to Allow when prompted by the UAC. Now right click on the Rebit tray icon again and select "Check for Update". This should now find the new software and update your installation.

Alternately, versions of Rebit software prior to 3.0.258.5181 (right-click the Rebit tray icon, select "About") will need to be reset. Visit this page for steps to reset and reinstall the Rebit software.
