My computer crashed and not sure why.. All seems to be working. Hard drive, memorry and cpu all show up in the BIOS. When I put the Rebit Recover disk in it goes thru the motions and then tells me to plug in my Rebit. It is already plugged in. Has always been sinse I installed. I know it was working the Blue and Green Lights used to be on. Now only the Blue light is on..

I am attempting to do a system restore. The screen has been at the "Preparing drive PhysicalDrive0" point for 8 hours now. I let it go for 12 hours last night and decided that there was something amiss, put in a new hard drive and restarted the process. Both the light on my Rebit drive and the desktop drive are on. The desktop drive activity light is flickering continuously. How long can the process take? If 8 hours is too long why isn't the recovery taking place? Suggestions? I am running XP Pro. Don't know the Rebit version since the system is down. I am using my laptop for email.

If you are unable to locate your Rebit License Key, please contact support_at_rebit_dot_com with any purchase information available. We will do our best to track down your order and your license key.

Alternately, there may be a license key stored in the registry. Follow these steps to access the stored entry.

Click "Start" -> "Run..." (or press the 'Windows' + 'R' keys)

Type "regedit /e C:\Rebit.reg HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Rebit\OrganizationDefaults" and Enter

Click "Start" -> "Run..." (or press the 'Windows' + 'R' keys)

Type "notepad.exe C:\Rebit.reg" and Enter

Look for a line that starts with "LicenseKey" to determine whether there is a License Key available. Copy or transcribe the value into the Rebit license activation window.
