The reason the system drive and sometimes other drives are grayed out, is because they cannot be unselected. The system drive, for example, cannot be unselected because no matter what it will be backed up. Consequently, any partitions that are located on the physical hard drive along with the system partition cannot be unselected.

I have 2 internal 500GB drives and a 1Tb external drive I use for Rebit. I know this is not large enough to back up both and I just want to back up my C: drive. I get the same problem. I right click the Rebit icon and then click on more. After way more time than it should be for a reasonably fast computer I get the window showing the drives grayed out and I cannot deselect the D: drive. In the meantime Rebit says it has stopped working because it is out of space. I am only using 273Gb of the C: drive and 264Gb of the D: drive. The only thing on the D: drive is a Windows restore point it made. In the Rebit sales information it says it will automatically eliminate older backups to make room. It does not seem that way since it says no room for backup. I also see this question was posted 5 months ago so I hope I get an answer.

I installed rebit software and it just finished backing up my internal drives. I have an OS drive, and two (2) data drives. Right now my rebit drive can hold all the data on the os and two drives but as my two data drives get full the rebit drive will not be able to back-up everything. My plan was to stop backing up of one of the data drives when this happens.

My problem is that when i select the "more" option and "select drives to back-up" is that one of my data drives is grayed out and says "(insufficient space)". All the drives are checked marked, but the OS drive, and one of the data drives are grayed out, not letting me de-select them.

When i go to my rebit drive, all the drives are backed-up. How come i cannot de-select the data drive that is grayed out.
