In trying to activate my software license I'M instructed to right click REBIT-select more-select acivate software license---My only option when doing so is "select drive to back up" Thank you for your help. Also I disconnected REBIT and can't reconnect. Again, thank you.

I have the same issue. My only option under More is to "select drive to back up." I don't have an option to active the license. I'm running v3.0.258.6452 and have been using Rebit for about 3 weeks. I'm really getting annoyed with the pop up window telling me the license is denied. It should not be this difficult!

Same issue here! I recently upgraded from an old version to 3.0.258.6452 (following the instructions here: http://support.rebit.com/forum/topic/how-do-i-reset-rebit ) and the software won't activate or backup. A solution would be much appreciated.

    Will you do the following?

    1. Click "Start" -> "All Programs" -> "Accessories" -> right-click "Command Prompt" and select "Run as Administrator"
    2. Type "cd \Program Files" and Enter (for 64-bit Windows OS, type "cd \Program Files(x86)" and Enter
    3. Type "cd Rebit\bin" and Enter
    4. Type "activation.exe /f /m" and Enter

This should display the license activation window, allowing you to enter a license key.

I did get a window asking for the License Key, but after I entered it, I did not get an activation code. Windows did tell me that the software was activated, but as far as I can tell, nothing is happening. According to My Computer, "My rebit" is a system folder, not a hard disk or external storage.
This is NOT as simple as 1-2-3. I've spent almost two hours on it now.

When I booted my computer this morning I got a message that "Your activation grace period has expired. Please active your software now" I have been using an activated copy for a year. When I try to right click the icon I do not get an option to activate.

If this is the case, then an Antivirus program has blocked the activation from taking place. The best thing to do is to email support with this one as they can help you get it activated in other ways.

    HI,

I just installed the software on a windows 7 laptop and tried to activate it. This is Rebit Saveme Express version 3.0.1026.7812. I get the message that it can not be activated. Any ideas?

    Thanks

Kejag: this would depend on the exact message you are seeing when you try to activate. What does it state?

I have the Rebit 5 1TB external hard drive, and when it got here start.exe was not in the Rebit 5 folder. I forget how, but we contacted Rebit and received the start.exe and entered the license key. But after 30 days a notification popped up saying that my trial had ended. I still had my license key so I clicked "Enter License Key", but when I entered it came back with an error stating: Cannot contact the license server. "
Make sure you have an Internet connection, or try again later." Any ideas?

    Thanks

Please disable your firewall/antivirus and try again. In most cases, a program (on your computer or possibly on the network if this is a work computer) is blocking Rebit's access to the servers.
