AVG 2010 and 2012 has been falsely reporting an infected openNSE.exe file that is found in the the Rebit\bin folder. it appears that AVG has resolved this issue, but if you are still experiencing this issue after updating please let support know.

Here are the versions and updates that worked do not quarantine OpenNSE.exe:

AVG 10.0.1204 with virus database version 2092/3978
AVG 2012.0.1834 with virus database version 2092/4578

If you had a detection and OpenNSE.exe was quarantined to the Virus Vault, then you must restore the file manually.

To restore the file manually in AVG 10 or 2012:

    1. Open the AVG program
    2. Click the History menu
    3. Select Virus Vault
    4. Select the OpenNSE.exe item from the list of quarantined items
    5. Click the Restore button

If you do not restore the OpenNSE.exe file, the only issue is that the desktop Rebit icon will not open the Backup Browser (NSE). You can still browse your backups from Windows Explorer or by right-clicking on a backed up file.
