    Can Rebit backup opened files?
    e.g. if i opened a file in Quark-Xpress or Photoshop or Word.

    How often a File is backed up? every x minutes? or every time i save it in the application?

    Is there a Trial-Version?

    Thank you

    Rebit is capable of backing up open files. Throughout the day, the Rebit continuous data protection is monitoring file activity for changes. If a file is changed (saved) and you take a break (i.e. no mouse movement or keyboard activity) for 15-30 seconds, the file will be copied. If the file is always open, as in the case of a database file, the file will be copied during the next Recovery Point processing period, which occurs every 24 hours opportunistically.

    Currently, there is no trial version of the software.

    Thank you for your answer.

    Another question: If the file is saved - and the file ist still opened by the program - will the file be backed up?

    Is always the full file backed up or only the difference?
    e.g. File with 50MB - and the file grows about 1 MB.
    Will it be like:
    Version1 = 50 MB
    Version2 = 51 MB
    or
    Version1 = 50 MB
    Version2 = 1 MB

    Greetings

    Thank you

    Regarding open files, it depends on how an application opens the file and whether the access is exclusive. The worst case is a database file that is always open with exclusive access. Rebit would only copy that file once per day at the time of Recovery Point creation. Otherwise, the typical Microsoft Office document or spreadsheet is copied shortly after saving.

    If a file changes even slightly, the Rebit software will back up the entire contents of the file.
