My external HDD is constantly being read/written to after installing Rebit. I am running Windows 7 Pro x64. I have run a HDD test and a chkdsk just to make sure. Any idea why this is happening? I know rebit constantly backs up but this activity seems excessive. I can see in the resource monitor there is a wait chain deadlock on "Rebit-SaveMe-Express-Svc.exe."

During the periods of disk activity, does the status display for the Rebit software read "Backed up as of" or "Copying data" with a countdown of files?
A never-ending countdown of files remaining typically indicates an issue with the Windows Volume Shadow Copy Service, which may need configuring. If the steps for "Solution 1" found at this link for Configuring Volume Shadow Service fail to correct the behavior, it may be necessary to contact support at Rebit.
If the status display periodically displays "Backed up as of" with a current date and time followed by 15 or more seconds of inactivity, the the Rebit product is performing normally. In this case, it may be appropriate to determine if another application is scanning or indexing the files on the hard disk drive. If you open "Task Manager" you may click the "Services" tab to see the services running. Right-click services such as "Search Indexing" and select "Stop" to temporarily stop the activities performed by the service. After a computer restart, these services will all revert to their normal behavior.

I had this issue on my original version of Rebit installed on my own HD. Eventually it killed the drive. I'm now running SaveMe on a Rebit drive and it still does the same thing. I figure this drive isn't long for this world either. The drive is accessing even though if you mouse over the Rebit tray icon it shows it's fully backed up.
