How make a 'safety' copy of the Rebit external HD?

    Dear Admin:

I love Rebit; but I am understandably paranoid.

I want to be able to copy my current Rebit external HD to a second external HD, as a ready backup in the event that my current Rebit external HD eventually has a hardware failure (which WILL definitely happen, given enough time). Can I just periodically create a refreshed copy of the current Rebit external HD; and then connect the second HD in its place when that dreaded hardware failure occurs? Will Rebit accept that second HD as ITS ONLY DRIVE, and perform all of its duties, as before? Or, are there complications?

    I share your paranoia.

One way around it is to use one of the online backup services in addition to Rebit. It has the added advantage of being remote in case the Rebit is stolen, gets zapped in a fire etc.
