How to recover from a failed un-install

    Lenovo Desktop, 4GB ram, 320GB HD, Seagate 1TB ext drive, XP-pro 32 with SP3.

After installing the Rebit 5 software and creating a restore point, I started a backup at 4:51pm Monday and let it run all night. Tuesday morning at 6:30, it was showing it had done 2.6%, the hard drive lights were on solid and it allowed me to pause the backup, so the PC was not locked. There is 52GB in use on my drive C:. How long should this take to back up?

I tried to resume the backup and it crashed. I decided to uninstall it and start over. At the beginning of the uninstall it asked if I wanted to also delete the backup data on the external drive and I said yes. The uninstall crashed and threw up a window asking if I wanted to run debug.

I finally got through the uninstall and saw that it never deleted the data. Windows would not allow me to delete the Rebit folder on the external drive. After some research on the net, I found the only way to delete the data is to reformat the external drive.

There is still Rebit residue in the registry (XP-Pro 32) and the program folder is still there. Should this be cleaned up before I attempt another install?

    Thanks
