I'm through with rebit

I've been religiously backing up for months confident that for the first time, I was positive that my data was backed up to the minute. Got a new computer last week with Win7. It can't access rebit. The rebit drive shows up in the explorer, but "access is denied." Tech support said it's likely a hardware failure.

My solution: I threw the rebit drive and in the fountain on my patio.

Bit drastic I would have thought. Tech support anywhere is not infallible (often far from it). My experience of Rebit TS is that they seem to be rather busy and don't spend enough time making sure they understand what you're saying.

Don't you still have the original system to re-attach the drive to to see if it works there?

When you say that Windows7 can't access the Rebit drive, are you trying to access it from <My Computer> or <Explorer>? I'm not sure whether that would work. Or did you install Rebit on the Win7 system and try to access the Rebit drive through Rebit which should certainly work. If that doesn't work, it could be a Rebit bug (there seem to be plenty of them).

Bit of a coincidence getting a hardware failure at exactly the time you change OS, it seems to me.
