Is the backup protected from deletion when the disk (or NAS) is connected?

    Could the backup data be wiped (accidentally, virus) when leaving the USB disk connected, or when using a NAS?

    The only way the data can be wiped is if a program or user targets the data and has it deleted. I am unaware of any viruses that can do this, but theoretically it is possible.

    Rebit 5 supports login credentials for the NAS. So, if Windows does not know these credentials, then only Rebit can connect to that NAS. That perfectly secures the NAS, I assume.
