Logon to domain problem

    After full restore to new hard drive on winxp pro. I am unable to logon to our domain which is win2003 server. The profile error is due to some type of security or id issues from the recovery. I can logon with the local account only.

    Computers change passwords too. It appears your computer authentication had changed after your restore point was taken, so now it cannot logon to the domain. You can reauthenticate the computer by removing it from domain and rejoining it. You can also reauthenticate using netdom. In both cases you will need domain admin credentials or explicit privileges to remove/rejoin computer to domain. Local admin rights will not work.

    We use VMware workstation for testing and run into this issue very frequently when we restore old snapshots.
