My NAS is not listed when adding a backup location

Rebit 5 does not show my NAS in the list of network drives; it only shows shared folders from my own and other computers.

(It's a USB disk connected to a FRITZ!Box ADSL modem/router. These computers have a specific name for the Windows XP workgroup, while the NAS is simply in "workgroup", which cannot be changed. Still, Windows Explorer shows it just fine in the Windows Networks section.)

(Oops, sorry, after trying to find related posts using the search, I eventually posted this is the wrong group...)

On top of that same screen, above the list of discovered shares, there are 3 input fields. I guess in English the first is titled "Share name", and the others are user name and password. There's no "Connect" or "Find" button next to those fields though, only the "Done" button on the lower right. It was not clear to me how these inputs could be used. Pressing Return had no effect.

Solution: simply entering the UNC like \\fritz.box\name-of-nas and leaving the user name and password fields blank, followed by clicking "Done" does in fact connect and select the drive just fine!

Thank you Arjan. I will get this information to the developers so that they can improve the NAS selection interface.

I just installed Rebit 5 on two brand new Windows 7 Home Premium laptops (exact same machines, though one might have had a few more Windows updates installed than the other). One installation worked flawlessly, but while that was running its initial backup, the other showed no input fields above the list of available shares at all.

However, not selecting any of the shares that were shown, I could still click the "Done" button (or whatever its English label would be) to finish the installation. Rebit 5 then told me it would create an initial backup. Obviously, it had no disk to back up to, but by clicking the gear icon in the lower right corner I could get into the backup locations manually, and then the input fields for the NAS were shown as expected.

(Possible cause: that second laptop has its font size set to 110%, somewhere in the Windows preferences. The inputs show no titles at all though, and appeared fine when manually going into the backup locations settings afterwards, without changing the font size settings.)
