Only a Portion of Larger New Drive Recognized

Rebit worked well: It restored my entire failing C: drive (80GB) to a new 320GB hard drive and the machine and all software is running smoothly.

However, Windows XP's Disk Management tool reports that the capacity of the new drive is that same as the old one: about 68GB, with only 14GB free. Same thing if I go to Windows Explorer, right-click on C:'s Properties: the capacity stats and pie chart both show only 14GB free

Yet the Disk Management tool also shows the capacity of "Disk 0" (C:) at about 300GB. Which is it? Does Windows recognize all of the new, larger drive?

It sounds like something did not restore properly since normally you will see a partition with the same size as the original space and then some un-allocated space after. All you would do in that case is extend the partition. If I understand correctly, in your case there is no un-allocated space. You should call or email support for further assistance.

Correct: There's no unallocated space listed.

Also, Rebit documentation says that "All NTFS sections with a drive letter assigned are increased proportionally to the size they were on the original drive." That apparently didn't happen.
