I have a problem with Rebit 5. I Get this message "Backups are out-of-date" and "A new recovery point has not been created for 3 days" from Rebit. I have a network drive connected and can browse old backups, but Rebit will not make any new backups.

    I have Windows 7 64 bit.

Please ensure that you have the ability to not only browse files on the NAS share, but that you can still write new files on there. Also, check to see if there is still space on the NAS for new data to fit.

I have same trouble as Tjomme, but on USB backup drive. Just did update to Rebit5. Running Win XP SP3. 80 GB internal drive, 80 GB external USB drive.

I still can't make a new backup or create a new recovery point even tho' I have plenty of room on the external drive. There are about 30 recovery points on the ext. drive but Rebit won't erase any to make room for a new recovery point. How can I get rid of all those needless recovery points?

If you upgraded from Rebit 3 to Rebit 5, we have seen Rebit have difficulty converting the old backups to the new ones if the indexes are corrupted on the drive. Index corruptions occur when the drive loses power unexpectedly or is not Safely Disconnected before being unplugged. Once they happen, Rebit will get stuck trying to convert these recovery points to no avail. The easiest solution is to format the drive and set is as a new backup location. If you do not want to lose the old Rebit data, you can also use a different external drive for backup.

Formatted the external USB drive. Rebit 5 then backed up all files to the newly formatted drive and established a new recovery point. All looked good until I tried to make a recovery disk. As the process came to 99% completed, the cd stopped writing and an error message came up saying Rebit5 Dashboard has encountered a problem and must shut down. material may be lost. This is the same message I got when I installed Rebit5, upgrading Rebit Save Me. Is my Recovery Disk OK? Dashboard sent an error report both times.

Even if you get this error (which is fixed now) your CD is completed and will work.
