Rebit 5 - delete backup locations

How can I delete a backup location in Rebit 5? There doesn't appear to be a functional way of removing a backup location.

I have had to change to a different location, but there appears to be no mechanism of stopping rebit from backing up to the previous location short of deleting the network share, which I can't do as it is shared.

This is proving to be a major hassle - I can't stop Rebit continuing to backup to a location which I no longer wish to use. I have to regularly go into the share and delete the Rebit files and directory, which Rebit then just writes again.

It is hard to believe that the sfotware has been released without an apparent means of deleting a backup location - there must be some way of doing it.

    1. Go to http://www.rebit.com
    2. Select the Support link tab
    3. Select Resource Center
    4. Under Product Documentation, Select Rebit 5 Help Guide.
    5. On Page 23, you fill find the topic Deleting Backups.
    6. After following the guidance, you MUST restart your computer to begin the deleting process which can take some time to complete.

    But ....

RebitAdmin posted this a week ago"

"The ability to delete backup locations will be available in the next patch of Rebit 5 that is expected shortly. In the meantime, some users will experience this behavior; clicking on the Red X will do nothing on their system."

Well, at least it is there now.

When Rebit 5 was first released, clicking on 'Product Documentation' under 'Support' didn't bring up any Rebit 5 documentation.

    I'll have a look.

Pity the 'Help' buttons on the software don't do anything.

Still regretting 'upgrading' from Rebit Netsmart - it wasn't great, but at least I had it working moderately well.

Just tried what it recommended on Page 23.

    It doesn't work.

Pages 23 states: Click the box next to each of the backups you want to delete. The box will turn red.

Trouble is, no backup comes up which I can delete.

Everything else I want to write here is unprintable.

Is there an update to this issue? My NAS location changed, but Rebit keeps attempting to back up to the old location.

I cannot delete backups as per the manual's suggestion. Is the manual outdated? I experience the same problems as the previous poster.

When you click on the delete option, it can take many hours to remove this backup location since Rebit has to manually remove everything file by file.

While backing up my PC's disk to the backup drive, I accidentally
was also backing up the PC to my wife's laptop. I successfully deleted my wife's PC as a backup location. However, I cannot delete the Rebit backup file from her PC, because the backup file is not visible to the Windows 7 operating system! Is there a way to make the backup file on her PC visible to Windows 7 so I can delete it?

Chris, you need to figure out the specific location that your PC was being backed up onto your wife's PC. Once you know that, you can manually delete the backups. They will appear as long strings.
