Noticed that several files are showing as Rebit backup pending in their description for the past several days even though Rebit shows everything is backed up and up to date. I check the RebitSvc.exe-Error.log and have a ton of lines just like this:

    02/18/2010 16:43:44.542 EXCEPTION: ESQLite3 - SQLite Error 5 - database is locked

    02/18/2010 16:44:44.882 EXCEPTION: ESQLite3 - SQLite Error 5 - database is locked
    02/18/2010 16:45:49.061 EXCEPTION: ESQLite3 - SQLite Error 5 - database is locked
    02/18/2010 16:46:52.662 EXCEPTION: ESQLite3 - SQLite Error 5 - database is locked
    02/18/2010 16:47:55.926 EXCEPTION: ESQLite3 - SQLite Error 5 - database is locked

Rebit hasn't given any indication there is a problem but something isn't working right. Anyone seen this before?

    Thanks

Running Windows 7 Pro 64-bit if that matters. Rebit status shows everything is fine. No errors displayed on the Rebit icon.

Rebit status from icon shows backed up as of 2/18/10 8:25 PM (right now). However, when I check My Rebit there are a bunch of files that don't appear as I can only assume have not actually been backed up.

Really not happy with a product that is spewing error messages in a log file buried in the Program Files directory while the icon that you look at shows no problems at all. The prior posts suggesting that error reporting get some more attention with Rebit are right on target.

After showing completely backed up a few minutes ago, it now shows backing up 57,000+ files. What's going on with Rebit? I did not add or remove any files.

The files that didn't appear in My Rebit before still don't appear there after it copied 57,000+ files. Those files still show as "Rebit backup pending..."

No change this morning. I am backing up two internal drives to one external 2 TB drive. When I go to select the drives that you wish to backup, it shows insufficient space for the larger internal drive. However, the space used by all the drives I want to backup is 1,061.26 GB and I am using a 2 TB drives as my Rebit backup drive. Once again, what is going on?

Why would Rebit not give some error that it thinks there is insufficient space? Never reporting errors makes the user think everything is working correctly? I don't want to have to go looking through log files and setup screens to find these things out.

I've got Rebit on three PCs. Two of them seem to be working just fine. The third (the one I'm posting about) is not. I just don't have any confidence that Rebit actually has an up to date backup of it.

Can someone from Rebit please contact me and let me know what these errors indicate? Should I uninstall Rebit, reformat the backup drive and let Rebit start its backup again?

The description you have provided does seem to indicate an odd problem. First, please refer to this post on Volume Shadow Copy Service configuration to ensure the VSS system is operating properly.

Then, if the problem persists, contact Rebit Support
