Rebit stopped working properly and I tried to fix it with the help of the forum but was not successful.
    I proceeded with this:
    1. disconnect external hard drive
    2. uninstall rebit using add/remove programs
    3. restart laptop
    4. connect hard drive
    5. format external hard drive (tried both quick format and full format)
    6. installed rebit version 3.0.258.7905
    7. I did not have to enter the product key anywhere

Rebit status: Rebit is Disconnected. This does not change when hard drive is disconnected and connected.

    1. started "manage" on "My Computer"
    2. clicked on services
    3. try to start "Rebit System Monitor"
    4. Error message: Could not start the Rebit System Monitor Service on local computer. Error 2: The system cannot find the file specified.

Any idea what to do next.

( I also tried all the Volume Shadow Service fixes but that did not help)

This issue may be addressed as follows.

    1. Click "Start" -> "All Programs" -> "Accessories" -> right-click "Command Prompt" and choose "Run as Administrator" (or "Run" on Windows XP)
    2. Type "cd \Program Files\Rebit\bin" and Enter (for SaveMe products, replace the Rebit folder name with "Rebit-SaveMe")
    3. Type "sc stop RebitSysMonSvc" and Enter (for SaveMe products, type "sc stop Rebit-SaveMe-SysMonSvc")
    4. Type "sc delete RebitSysMonSvc" and Enter (for SaveMe products, type "sc delete Rebit-SaveMe-SysMonSvc")
    5. Type "RebitSysMon.exe -install" and Enter (for SaveMe products, type "Rebit-SaveMe-SysMon.exe -install")
    6. Type "sc start RebitSysMon" and Enter (for SaveMe products, type "sc start Rebit-SaveMe-SysMon")

If the above file names are incorrect, type "dir /a" to see a listing of all available files in the folder.
