The release of the Rebit SaveMe and SaveMe Express products have generated questions. Here are answers to the questions.
- Will original Rebit users continue to be supported?
Yes, Rebit customers will continue to receive support and software updates, particularly bug fixes, for the Rebit product.
- Will the Rebit software continue to get updated and improved?
No new features will be added to the current product, but features may be added to the SaveMe and SaveMe Express products in the future.
- Is this essentially a renamed new version of Rebit, or is the product fundamentally different?
Currently, the primary difference is the SaveMe product retains the drive letter ("G:", for example) on the external disk drive, which permits storing files such as video or music. The SaveMe Express and Rebit products will remove the drive letter from the external device as before, leaving the "My Rebit" icon in the "My Computer" window. The SaveMe and SaveMe Express products have received revised graphic logos and documentation also.
- Is there an upgrade path to the new software?
Rebit SaveMe and SaveMe Express do not currently have upgrade paths. This is being evaluated.
- Is there a free upgrade for those who recently purchased Rebit?
