Error window: Won't backup to a FAT 32 volume!
The HDD is partitioned and the backup partition is formated as NTFS format. What do I need to do?

Please make sure that the C: drive is NTFS and not FAT32. If it is FAT32 you will need to convert it to an NTFS in order for Rebit to be installed. Step by step instructions can be found either through a search engine or here:

Windows Vista FAT32 to NTFS Guide
Windows 7 FAT32 to NTFS Guide

Thanks for that conformation. I reformatted the drive rather than converting and then reinstalled Rebit. The Disk Management now shows as a NTFS format, however it still gives me the same error message. What else can I try?

    Hi Guys!

Realized that the error message was referring to the c: drive. Have since converted it and Rebit is now backing up the drives.
    Thanks,
    Tom

Just realised that my D drive is FAT32. Is that why Rebit won't back it up? I've read that conversion is easy but is it safe? I wouldn't want to run the risk of losing many years of data.

FAT32 drives will still be backed up, but differently than NTFS drives. NTFS drives are backed up constantly, capturing all the changes, whereas FAT32 disks will be backed up once through a snap shot type backup. FAT32 disks can still be restored using the system restore disk, but you will not have the same easy access to the backed up files for recovering a single file as you would with NTFS. I recommend converting this drive to NTFS.
