Can Rebit be used on a router's usb port? Or does
the usb (or eSATA) have to physically be on the
    computer?

I was thinking of having the backup drive powered
on all the time. I generally only have the computer on when I'm
using it. This way, the drive will always be available
without my having to think about it.

If you plan to backup to a location other than a USB attached device, you would have to use the network device option. For this, ensure that you have the ability to access the shared drive, and not only read data on it, but also write data onto it.

Will the restore cd be able to read from a networked device?
I have two laptops and a USB HD (formated EXT3) attached to an ASUS router which has been working well for me. Would I be correct to presume that your product will be able to backup and restore from this device?
