I have the downloaded version of rebit 3.0.1035.7079 but did not order the recovery CD since your help file indicated it could be created by the user (and I am a fairly experienced computer user). Specifically, the help document says to make the recovery CD by downloading the *.iso file from your support site (which I did) and then double click this .iso file to start the software that will allow you to burn the disc. But my machine does not recognize the .iso file type and hence no s/w starts when its double clicked. I have a CD R/W drive. What's your plan B? Seems like your help entry on this was written by someone who never actually followed the prescription or you are assuming some s/w exists which is in reality not standard.

It seems like you do not have the CD Burner software. There are several options for CD Burner software, including CDBurnerXP.
Use the following link to download a free CD Burner softwarehttp://cdburnerxp.se/en/download
Install the software & run it then it really straight forward to Burn *.iso CD

Ah that did it. It would be useful for REBIT to include that in the instructions.

Downloaded the .iso file. It's zipped. When I double-click on the .iso file, WinZip opens to unzip it. When extracting to my CD drive WinZip says 'unable to create folder.' When extracting to a folder on my hard disk, there is no executable to click to create a bootable recovery CD. I have CD burning software installed - Nero.
Tried SaveMe-Recovery-3.0.1033.7812.iso and
RebitRecovery5646.iso.Posted 1 year ago # -
You do not need to unzip/extract the downloaded file. It may appear like a WinZip or similar type of file, but it is an ISO file. Mount the downloaded files using Nero or a similar burning program and burn the image. With Nero, you have the option of right-clicking on the downloaded file and selecting Open with Nero. This will get you all the way through the process automatically so that all you have to do is insert a blank CDR/DVDR and click Burn.
