I bought Rebit SaveMe to use the backup of my old desktop (XP) programs on my new Windows 7 laptop. However, that does not work. Has the backup failed or is it simply impossible to do this? I do not want to copy the first computer's programs, I just want to be able to use them.

There is no way to install programs onto a computer from the Rebit in this way. The only way programs are recovered is through the complete Bare Metal Restoration process. You also cannot run files from the Rebit, so they must first be moved onto your computer.
While Rebit will not reinstall software, in some cases you can still drag-and-drop the directory onto your computer and run the program from this folder.
