Version five won't back up

After a few glitches, I've been doing fairly well with version three. So I was willing to immediately buy version five when available.

But Rebit five has been creating its own problem. I installed according to direction, but Rebit insisted that it could not back up because a backup drive had not been selected. In fact, it had. This is a My Book with USB 3.0. It worked just fine with the old version of Rebit. So I reset by uninstalling Rebit and formatting My Book.

So, starting from zero, everything should have been fine. It certainly started out well. This time, Rebit saw My Book and started to back up. The problem is that it finished after just a few minutes. Now it insists " Your computer is backed up" and it is not true. The backup drive has apparently all the necessary structure for backing up. However, looking at the "Rebit drive" there's absolutely nothing there. Wrote about five GB for the structure, and it stopped right there. And yes, does see drive C:. So there sits the My Book with 926 GB sitting free.

Now what? Apparently, was not installed correctly or something.

It will sometimes take a while for the initial backup to be created, so please let it do its thing for a while before you will see a recovery point. Additionally, please keep in mind that Rebit 5 uses compression now, so it can compress your data up to 5 times.

Regarding Rebit 5 not backing up to the Rebit 3 hard drive, this is due to a corrupt index or bad database files that Rebit keeps trying to convert but cannot. The best thing to do would be to format the drive and start the backup from scratch if you notice that it takes more than 24 hours before it can backup.

I have already reformatted My Book and it still does not back up. There is nothing on the disk. Rebit is doing nothing.

I have similar problems. Just purchased/Installed 1 TB drive and software (5.0.1035.10412 on 2/15 and it backedup 90 GB over 21 hours. Created a restore point. I browsed the backup and found the basic directory structure there down 3 levels but the files were either missing altogether or in the wrong directories, After 3 directory levels down even the directories were missing. This is currently with the tech support.

I have also uninstalled Rebit 5 and did a complete format of the 1TB Book. I reinstalled Rebit 5 and again the error 'There is no backup locations configured. Please go to settings > Backup locations' I have done this several times. I am afraid to install the other copies I purchased on the other PCs. What should I do or is this a software issue?
