Very poor performance - over it

I love the look and feel of Rebit 5 as well as its functionality. I really wanted to buy 3 licences but the program just doesn't perform:

    1. It took 48 hours to do an initial backup of 500gb. Competitor products do the same thing in 4-5 hours.

    2. Support on this forum is very poor, and again the competition does a much better job.

    3. When I finally decided to uninstall Rebit I ticked the box to remove backups. A reboot was required but when I did this the PC displayed the Windows 7 blue shutdown screen with the message:

Operations are in progress please wait. Your machine will be turned off automatically after the operations are complete

This screen remained for SIXTY hours before I switched off the PC in utter frustration.

This is totally unacceptable for a mission-critical backup app.

Wow, that's bad... Now that you interrupted the removal process:

If you did not use the disk for anything else, a format will erase the backup much quicker. If there's other data on the disk, then see Cannot remove old backup.

    Hi Arjan,

Thanks for the link...........followed your instructions and cleared up the rest of the rebit backup files.

To clarify, it should not take 48 hours to do a backup. If this is the case for you, there might be damaged sectors on the system disk slowing down the backup process. If these happen to be in the same place as the Operating System, then you will see this slow down in Rebit but not in otehr backup services that do not backup the entire system.

I have a total of 84gb to backup to a Network drive. The backup has been running 14 hours and ia reported to be at 54.3%. Will spend the time lookng for new backup software.

Backing up to a network drive can definitely take some time, especially since there are limitations on the data transfer rate, the NAS box processor speed, and the data compression that takes place during backup.
